Forced Improvement

In training, we never want to get stuck going through the motions.

Our goal is to inject improvement into whatever is up next.

Make your next rep better than the one that came before.

Make your next set better than your last.

This should also apply to competition.

On the platform, make attempt #2 better than attempt #1.

Then make attempt #3 better than attempt #2.

Move the bar with more speed.

Maintain better positioning.

Be in better control of the weight.

You can always find a way to improve your lifts, but you must demand it from yourself.

Adopting this mentality prepares you for all scenarios.

It protects you from getting too far off-track when things are going poorly.

It presents an opportunity to polish and continue pushing toward a higher level when things are already going well.

And the moment the higher level is reached, we attempt to improve to the level after that.

The pursuit of improvement should be constant and should never stop.
